Original WWII Imperial Japanese Order of the Rising Sun, 8th Class, complete with its original presentation case. Established in 1875 by Emperor Meiji, the Order of the Rising Sun was awarded to military personnel and civilians for distinguished service to Japan.

 

The decoration features the traditional paulownia crest design, suspended from its original red and white ribbon. The medal shows light, honest age consistent with period use.
