Authentic World War II U.S. Army entrenching shovel, manufactured by Ames Company and clearly dated 1944 on the blade. This is the classic folding “E-tool” carried by American troops for digging foxholes, defensive positions, and general field use.
The shovel features its original wooden handle and steel spade with folding mechanism intact. The adjustment collar and hinge assembly remain functional, allowing the blade to be locked into position. The blade retains its wartime finish with honest wear, surface oxidation, and patina consistent with age and field use.
